Pomodoro Technique

Postby TheDR » Sat Mar 01, 2014 3:45 pm

http://pomodorotechnique.com/

Simply put, this is a motivational technique in which you spend 25 minutes working and then take a 5 minute break. This is called a Pomodoro. You can then complete multiple Pomodoros to achieve a large task.
That is the basics, but if you want to learn more visit their site and watch a few of the videos.

I've benefited from this method greatly and have written over 40,000 words of a book I'm working on. Most days I only feel like doing 25 minutes, but end up carrying on anyway. My productivity has increased significantly. I use this in conjunction with check lists to keep my mind active and to allow me to be creative as possible.

I definitely recommend at least giving this a try. You might find that it works and really helps you focus on your workload.

For anyone that is interested, this is the timer I use: http://e.ggtimer.com/pomodoro

Huh, interesting. This might be the kind of technique I could end up benefiting from. Thanks for sharing.
Good thing I have this sniper rifle and my good sense of stealth.

Here is a brief Synopsis:

Future Grim is a WIP novel by KL Carter. It’s dark satire of a universe in 3229 controlled by corporations. Everyone in existence lives in a perpetual state of “it will do”.

Earth has long been abandoned, people simply live in the infinite of space, working in dead end jobs collecting resources to build more ships to collect more resources. Guns are banned, corruption is abundant and any sign of a government dissolved a long time ago. A twisted tale of espionage, plotting and anxiety.

Eos is a face punching bodyguard loyal to her employer, Francis Kennerman. She will do whatever it takes to unravel the mystery in this science fiction thriller, even if that means changing her opinion on how the machine should run.

One of the key areas I'm focusing on is excluding good vs evil. My story is very much just a bunch of people, all with different motives and none of them pure at heart. Hopefully I should be finished sometime this year.

You can find out more at my blog (http://futuregrim.wordpress.com/about/). Feel free to ask me some questions on here if you are interested.
