How it works

Postby RobStorm » Tue Mar 26, 2013 12:34 pm

So what is group coaching?

Group coaching is a system you set up with some other people to ensure that you finish your own games and projects. You do so by mutually kicking each other's butts and helping people work out next steps in their project. Here's how to set it up.

    - Find one other person on this board or elsewhere that wants to finish their project or game
    - Set up a Google Doc and share it between you two so that you can both edit and see the same document
    - Pick a color a color for your messages and comments
    - Write out a short brainstorm for your game project and possible next steps
    - Comment on the other person's goals and add your own ideas for what next steps they should take
    - Check up on this doc every day or every few days that you decide and keep in touch on our IRC channel or skype http://SuperbossGames.com/Chat
    - Get that person into gear and make sure they followthrough on their steps and they will do the same for you

Some friend's and I have used this for huge lists of New Year's Resolutions and other goals. In a year we would accomplish about 85% of the goals listed which otherwise probably would never have been done. Pretty awesome.

Here's an example doc that we had started before for reference on what it can start to look like.

So if you want to set up some coaching, throw a post up here and get to it.

This system is very useful! It's a nice idea to set up a forum for this, now everybody can be productive \o/ :D

I'd be interested in testing this method out.

Not sure if I should have made my own thread <_<

We've started this for 2014 with a few members, is going really well so far. Using the comment system on google docs is very useful.

This is a really cool idea and a good way to practice making games over a distance with someone. :D will have to give it a try.

Is this still a thing that people do?
